Principal's Message

Melissa Goad

Dear Families,

I am so pleased to welcome you to the Patrick McGaheran School website! It is truly my pleasure to be the principal at Patrick McGaheran School, and to work with our youngest learners every day.

PMG is a special place, where our students are welcomed into the world of education, and we are able to provide a warm and welcoming learning early childhood environment for children in kindergarten, first and second grades. We are proud to cater to our young learners’ needs and we recognize the uniqueness of each child stemming from his/her prior experiences, rate of developmental growth, and individual needs and interests.

At PMG, students are empowered to become kind, caring citizens through challenging academic curricula based on state and national standards. Our students are presented with a program of study that includes a responsive literacy approach with an emphasis on reading and writing skills. Basic literacy skills are emphasized and taught through use of high interest, leveled literature books. Mathematics is taught through working with hands-on activities, manipulatives and solving real problems. We strive to support children in developing their love of learning.

At Patrick McGaheran School, we address the social growth of children through use of the Responsive Classroom approach. The school lives by three basic social guidelines that strike at the core of life for children and staff at PMG:

  • Take care of yourself
  • Take care of others
  • Take care of the environment

I hope that you are able to take some time to explore our website and learn more about our school and district. I am happy to help you in any way; if I can be of assistance, please reach out to our school! I look forward to working in partnership with you to help your child to learn and grow.

Sincerely,

Melissa Goad, Principal
